The European Union trotting grand prix, a great event in the Modena trotting program, was held in a festive and pleasant atmosphere thanks to the many initiatives proposed by the Modenese.
The grand prize was won by Blackflash Bar, an extraordinary female who here at the Ghirlandina had already imposed herself in the classic Tito Giovanardi a year ago. Behind the winner, led by Santo Mollo, finished Bepi Bi, who relegated the great favorite of the eve Bengurion Jet to third place.

Ologramma is a choral and instrumental group composed, for more than half of its 40 members, by young people with different types of disabilities who through music are able to overcome, also thanks to the music therapist musicians, many individual difficulties, giving emotions and joy to the increasing number of spectators.
A group founded in 2010 that has achieved exceptional results on important occasions such as Holocaust Remembrance Day, the Festival of Philosophy, 29 September, the MAT and in collaboration with important associations such as Libera, Il cesto di ciliegie and many others.
On 11 September 2021 he performed in a concert entitled ‘A rivedere le stelle‘ for the 700th anniversary of Dante Alighieri’s death. On this occasion, part of the concert recalled the events of the World Trade Center, 20 years later. A beautiful evening of music and emotions much appreciated by the over 500 spectators.

Race between the best horses in the world with a maximum age of 4 years, third in Italy for the amount of prize money.
The European Union Grand Prix is one of the oldest races that are still held internationally today. Born in 1928 with the name of European Grand Prix, for almost a century it has seen the best 4-year-old Italian trotters compete with their foreign peers and represents the third “generational exam” for horses specialized in trotting, after the Orsi Mangelli Grand Prix at three and the Gran Criterium at two years.
The history of the European Union GP has always been characterized by races where tactics have played a fundamental role and where champions of excellent caliber have entered the Hall of Fame only following duels at the last meter.
The Modena Hippodrome: a show for over 140 years
The current structure of the Ghirlandina racecourse was inaugurated in 1974, but the foundation of the first racecourse by the glorious Modenese Society of Exhibitions, Fairs and Horse Races, dates back to 1875.
The complex is also equipped with a renowned restaurant, which offers typical Modena menus, with a selection dedicated to dinners that varies with each evening of competitions.
The racecourse, managed by the Modenese Society for Exhibitions, Fairs and Horse Races S.r.l., now stands south of the city and occupies an area of 337,000 square meters.
The stables house about 290 boxes, and include all the necessary services for the training and stables of the horses.
The running track measures just over 1000 meters at one meter from the internal rope.
The public can take advantage of a covered grandstand with a capacity of 2,500 seats and 400 standing.
At the east end of the grandstand there is a playground, from which it is still possible to watch the races. Near the areas equipped for children there is also a pony area, where children can approach the world of horse racing.
